The building is silent asleep,
all todays’ lies have been told,
what’s stolen is now theirs’ to keep
while pharma turns mothers milk cold…
The stars have unsilvered themselves
streetlights surrender to dark,
our outcasts are stocking the shelves
while our predators skulk in the park…
Dreams are but nightmares sedated
subtle they wake through our days,
while blood lust is restfully sated
in murderous subconscious ways…
And the day will come with its gifts
ribboned in silk or in blood,
street life exchanging in shifts,
to wash out the dead in its flood…
